Text Box: Green lizard sunning
himself on the deck, slowly
weathering to gray

In the cool green shade
a raccoon comes to the pool,
drinks from tiny hands

A single feather
glows white against the green grass.
Where have the ducks gone?

Autumn wind-stript trees
reveal the unseen cities
of birds and squirrels

How similar! Veins
of a disintegrating
leaf, a fish’s spine!

Dog barking. Frantic.
What masked prowler comes tonight?
Ah! A baby raccoon!
